Art & electronics show from Long Island City-based studio
Overview
FCC Studio is an art collective that creates fun computers, weird electronics, and whimsical machines designed to bring joy back to using technology. We think the form factor of modern devices has become commoditized and boring. In our work, we explore novel and unexpected ways of interacting with hardware and software. We find beauty in combining retro materials with futuristic technology, making utilitarian apps with playful interfaces, and building with a variety of materials — from wood to plastic to yarn.
Selected projects include the AI Art Box, which features retro TV channel knobs that control prompts for generating art with an AI model; the Friendship Beacon, which uses switches and cables to broadcast times to hang out; and the Rolodex, which includes a dial for navigating apps and visualizations.
These and other projects will be on view November 8–9, 2025, at 618 E 9th St, New York, NY. Come have fun!
