Art And Drawing Fundamentals Workshop

Class two of a four class series intended to build upon skills learned.

Week 2 - Shape, Form & Composition

Goal: Learn to build drawings from simple shapes & arrange them well.

• Breaking complex subjects into basic forms (cube, sphere, cylinder, cone)

• Understanding light and shadow: highlights, mid-tones, cast shadows

• Introduction to perspective (1-point perspective basics)

• Composition rules: rule of thirds, balance, focal points

• Practice exercise: drawing a simple still life with depth
