Art And Drawing Fundamentals Workshop

Class one of a four class series intended to build upon skills learned.

Week 1 - Drawing Foundations

Goal: Build observation skills, learn to see like an artist.

• Introduction to art materials: pencils, erasers, sketchbook, paper

• Warm-up exercises: lines, shapes, shading drills

• Contour drawing: blind and continuous line practice

• Value scale: light to dark shading with pencil

• Simple still life: drawing basic objects (cup, apple, box)
