Arizona law requires a person to obtain a 70% shooting accuracy to qualify for a firearms license! At LionHeart Security Services, we have always held our armed security guards to an even higher standard. For instance, we require our staff to pass the State firearms licensing qualification with an accuracy of 90%. In addition, all fired hits must remain on the target silhouette even if they miss the target zone.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to kickstart your career in security. See you there!

Frequently asked questions

Do you supply handguns for use?

Unfortunately NO, we do not furnish handguns for qualification. You will need to have your own firearm for qualification, as well as for work. 9mm or larger (.40, 10mm, .45etc.) Smaller caliber handguns will not be appropriate for security work.

Should I bring my firearm to class

No, we request you refrain from bringing your firearm into class on Wednesday, as we will not be conducting firearm handling in the classroom. You will need your firearm on Thursday, when we meet at the Ben Avery Range, for qualification.

Do I have to have a total of 3 magazines?

While not absolutely necessary for qualification, it makes the qualification process easier, by limiting the number of times you have to reload your magazine(s) when qualifying. Remember, we're firing 50 rounds, so its easier having them already loaded in magazines. For work, it'll be required.

What are the disqualifiers or obtaining my guard card.

There's a list on the Eventbrite Event, with a link to the disqualifiers. Please read them all. If DPS doesn't issue you an Armed Guard Card, because you have a disqualifying reason, Lionheart cannot refund you the price of the class.

Are you hiring Armed Guards?

While we frequently hire Armed Guards, it goes in waves. Check with our HR department, who can answer that question.

Can I work as a guard with my Armed Guard Card?

Yes, because you should already have an active Unarmed Guard Card. You must have them in your possession at all times when working as a guard, and are subject to producing them upon request by anyone. (Show only, don't give them to the person, unless they're Law Enforcement)

I'm from Texas, and was an Armed Guard there, can you hire me?

No, while CCW's work across state lines, Guard Cards do not. They are specific to the state that issued them. In Arizona, you will need both the Unarmed Guard Card, and Armed Guard Card to work as an Armed Guard in Arizona.

Can I take the Unarmed Guard, and Armed Guard classes back to back?

Absolutely. It's actually going to save you money, since you'll only have the fingerprint fee, 1 time. Or you can obtain your Unarmed Guard card, and within 60 days, take your Armed Guard class, and still save the extra $22.
