Hear from Josh Tiessen on his painting  process and what inspires his work.
Josh Tiessen will be sharing his story of becoming a professional fine artist by 16 and the challenges he has had to overcome. He will be showing images of the step-by-step creative process behind his hyperrealistic paintings, which take up to 1700 hours to complete. He will expand upon the inspiration behind specific paintings in the exhibition, referencing the art's historical, biblical, and environmental themes woven throughout. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A.
The artist’s recent books, Streams in the Wasteland (2021) and Vanitas + Viriditas (2024), will be available for purchase.
