How long will I be able to talk about my IEP?

Accepted Answer

Advocates will spend a maximum of 20 minutes on your review if others are waiting.  If you've reserved a ticket you are guaranteed 25 minutes.

Are younger children welcome?

This event is open to the entire family, however, if your child needs supervision, or impacts other families' ability to engage with their advocate, we may ask you to use the "quiet rooms" for your review (there are 2).

How many tickets do I buy? One per person?

Accepted Answer

You need to buy 1 ticket per IEP.  Each ticket guarantees at 25 minute session with an advocate.  If 2 children in your family have IEPs and you'd like to review them both purchase 2 tickets.

Question 5

If I'm only spending 25 minutes with the advocate or special ed teacher, do I stay until 2:30pm?

It's up to you.   After you meet with your advocate you may leave.  Some families like to connect with others who have children with special needs.  It reminds us we're "not alone."  There will be light refreshments in the library while supplies last.

What if I arrive early?
