Description

The first Boston DataRescue event will be held on Wednesday February 1 from 4:30pm - 9:30pm in the CGIS South Building Room S030 at Harvard University. We'll be focusing on archiving websites and data from EPA and the Department of Energy.

The event is being organized by Toly Rinberg, Andrew Bergman and Maya Anjur-Dietrich, all members of the Environmental Data & Governance Initiative (EDGI) and PhD students in Applied Physics, Mercè Crosas, Chief Data Science and Technology Officer at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science (IQSS), and Hugh Truslow, Head of Social Sciences and Visualization at Harvard Library, all from Harvard University.

Agenda:
  • 4:30 - 4:45 - Gathering and introductions
  • 4:45 - 5:00 - Introduction to DataRescue initiatives and EDGI
  • 5:00 - 5:30 - Training for the evening tasks
  • 5:30 - 9:30 - Start working! Divide into two groups (seeding and technical)
  • 9:30 - Wrap up
  • Food will be provided
