The USGS is amassing and sharing lidar data spanning the country. And it’s free. Gain key ArcGIS skills to take advantage. We’ll show you how in this 2-day class focused on analyzing, visualizing and informing planning and decision making using lidar and image data.

Learn how to extract and visualize meaningful information from lidar and earth imagery. Identify appropriate methods, approaches and tips geared to specific project aims. Incorporate effective workflows and best practices. Increase landscape-scale understanding and acuity (intelligence!). Easily share lidar data and derived products with others. Save time, money and resources, maybe even lives.

Visualize and analyze lidar point clouds and earth imagery

  • Use image classification to differentiate features of interest without digitizing
  • Manage and work with lidar data
  • Build terrains and appreciate their advantages
  • Perform line of sight / visibility analysis

Software: ArcGIS 10.3-10.5 with extensions - Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst.
