Designated as a Level I Arboretum, St. Timothy's School in Stevenson, Maryland is a sanctuary for education, engagement and contemplation for students, faculty, staff and alumnae to promote holistic relationships between people, plants, and place. Set among 145 rolling acres of equine pastures, conservation forest, athletic fields, and remarkable architecture, nearly 450 trees make up the campus arboretum. Many of the finest specimen are nearly 100 years old. Numerous species and cultivars of Beech, Cherry, Magnolia, Maple, and Oak are represented on the school's campus among other native and non-native trees.
Chartered in 1832, St. Timothy's School is an independent, all-girls boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12. The school offers the globally recognized International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) and Middle Years Program (MYP). Our mission is to prepare girls to assume positions of leadership with moral focus and courage, intellectual honesty and acumen, and the confidence to act responsibly and ethically in all areas of their lives.
