Arboretum Day at St. Timothy's School

Come join us for a fun-filled day at St. Timothy's School! Our Arboretum Day event promises a day of exploring nature, learning about trees, and enjoying the great outdoors. From guided tours to hands-on activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy. So, grab your friends and family, and spend a day surrounded by the beauty of nature at St. Timothy's School! All proceeds benefit the St. Timothy's School Arboretum Fund.

Gates open at 9:00 a.m. — rain or shine!


What to Expect:
🌳 145 rolling acres of Beech, Cherry, Magnolia, Maple, and Oak trees, including the Maryland State Champion Kwanzan Cherry tree!
🌷 Family fun activities including horse petting, nature scavenger-hunting, tasting some fresh vegetables from our farm, and more!
📸 Plenty of photo opportunities at the iconic Fearless Girl, pond, and Moongate garden.
🍃 Time to relax and soak in the peaceful ambiance among towering trees and seasonal blooms.

Are there minimum age requirements to enter the event?

This event is for all ages!

Do children enter for free?

All guests 18 years and older are required to purchase a ticket for entry. Any guest 17 or younger does not need a purchased ticket for entry. Students may attend for free, but those students 18 years and older must present valid student identification at the entrance to receive free admission.

What's the refund policy?

As this special event is a fundraiser in support of the St. Timothy’s Arboretum, we are unable to offer refunds. If you’re unable to attend after purchasing a ticket, we would be happy to welcome you to campus at another time. Just give us a call at 410-486-7403. Thank you for your support!

What happens if it rains on the date of the event?

The event will take place rain or shine.

Are pets permitted?

Pets are not permitted.

Is outside food allowed?

Yes! Feel free to pack food and snacks for the day. We encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated while exploring the arboretum.

Designated as a Level I Arboretum, St. Timothy's School in Stevenson, Maryland is a sanctuary for education, engagement and contemplation for students, faculty, staff and alumnae to promote holistic relationships between people, plants, and place. Set among 145 rolling acres of equine pastures, conservation forest, athletic fields, and remarkable architecture, nearly 450 trees make up the campus arboretum. Many of the finest specimen are nearly 100 years old. Numerous species and cultivars of Beech, Cherry, Magnolia, Maple, and Oak are represented on the school's campus among other native and non-native trees.

Chartered in 1832, St. Timothy's School is an independent, all-girls boarding and day school for students in grades 9-12. The school offers the globally recognized International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) and Middle Years Program (MYP). Our mission is to prepare girls to assume positions of leadership with moral focus and courage, intellectual honesty and acumen, and the confidence to act responsibly and ethically in all areas of their lives.
