The Institute’s content is tailored for current first-line supervisors and above, as well as individuals seeking to enhance their leadership and supervisory skills.

What are the typical career paths of attendees?

Our participants represent a diverse cross-section of professionals who operate, maintain, and improve public works and infrastructure. This includes: Street Maintenance Crews, Designers and Engineers, Project Managers, Management Analysts, Office Assistants, Inspectors, and Fleet personnel.

Can I be a member of a private or public agency?

Yes! The Institute welcomes members from both private and public agencies. Whether you work for a government entity, a municipal department, or a private firm involved in public works, infrastructure, or related fields, you are encouraged to attend.

Is there a dress code?

There is no strict dress code! For the first two days, you’ll be networking with peers, so business casual or your work uniform is recommended. On Day 3, be prepared for a group photo with your cohort and an individual photo as you receive your certificate.

What is the typical seniority level of attendees?

Attendees come from a wide range of experience levels, from entry-level field staff such as tree trimmers to mid-career professionals like design engineers and senior leaders such as deputy directors.

Is there priority registration for former students?

Yes! To support our students in completing all four modules and earning their certificate in a timely manner, we offer a priority registration window for former students before opening registration to the general public.

How often are modules offered?

Modules are hosted semi-annually, typically in May and September. The program consists of four rotating modules, completing a full cycle over a two-year period.

Can I join at any module, or do I have to start with Module 1?

You can start with any module based on availability. Each module builds on core concepts but can be taken in any order. Keep in mind that missing a module may delay certificate completion by up to two years, so plan accordingly.

What are the food arrangements?

Each day, attendees will be provided with a full breakfast, a coffee bar, a buffet-style lunch, and an afternoon snack.
