If you’ve wondered about the pros and cons, logistics, and costs involved in electrifying everything in your home (e.g. the use of heat pumps for space heating and cooling; heat pump for hot water; cooking via induction; generating and storing power through PV solar with battery backup), in addition to the climate and health benefits, thenplease consider attending the Electrification Open House on April 16th between 5-7:30pm at the Musser home in Northeast Portland.

Experience how you would heat and cool the home, heat your water, cook food, and provide power to your appliances, even during unexpected grid outages. Learn about the benefits of electrification as well as how important it is to begin planning and preparing for home electrification now, so that you can implement that plan in the future.

Speak with homeowners who have electrified three of their homes in which they’ve lived over the years. Learn about the current federal tax credits and upcoming rebates and incentives from the Inflation Reduction Act. Lastly, speak with some of the local contractors who completed the projects for them here in Portland, pending availability that night.

EVENT DETAILS

After a meet and greet period from 5-5:30pm, there will be a ~45min presentation giving an overview of the benefits of electrification as well as the specific technologies and appliances in the home. After the presentation will be a time to mill about the home to check out the appliances up close, and ask specific questions. Additionally, handouts, checklists, and other resources for home electrification and their relevant financial incentives will be made available and discussed.
