Join us for Applying Mindfulness Strategies with Transitional Age Youth Who Use Substances

Klasey Consulting is partnering with Lincoln Families to bring this training to Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras providers. While mindfulness has grown in popularity to support individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, etc., it’s starting to be recognized as a helpful tool in addressing substance use with system-involved youth and transitional age youth. Join us as we’ll talk about how to apply mindfulness strategies with individuals in substance use recovery.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will be able to explain at least one way mindfulness strategies can benefit a system-involved youth/transitional age youth in substance use recovery

2. Participants will be able to educate system-involved youth/transitional age youth about mindfulness

3. Participants will be able to identify and teach at least 1 mindfulness strategy to support system-involved youth/transitional age youth in substance use recovery

Please note that in order to register for these FREE trainings your organization must directly work with foster, adoptive or probation involved children, youth and their families in Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras only. Caregivers, including resource families, who serve youth in the above-mentioned counties are also eligible. Participants outside of these areas aren't eligible and will not receive the zoom link.

Dr. Kwonta Phatiphong is a registered psychological associate with 6 years of counseling experience in clinical and social service settings. She has experience in working with clients struggling with trauma and crisis, substance abuse, learning disabilities, homelessness, and low and high functioning client populations. She is trained in substance abuse, Seeking Safety, TF-CBT, Motivational Interview, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Trauma Resiliency Model, and psychological assessments.
