What is Resilient Coders?

Resilient Coders trains people of color from Boston’s low-income communities for high growth careers as software engineers, and connects them with employment opportunities.

Who can apply?

We are inviting people of color from low-income backgrounds between the ages of 18-30, with a high school diploma or equivalency. No prior technical experience necessary. Those admitted into the training program receive a bi-weekly stipend ($500).

Do I need to attend a hackathon to be considered?

What is the Resilient Coders Hackathon?

The hackathon is the first step of the application process, it is an opportunity for you to assess your interest in coding, and explore whether Resilient Coders Training Bootcamp is for you. During this one-day program (10am-5pm), you'll learn some Web Development (coding) basics and explore how tech can be used to create change in your community.

What happens after the Hackathon?

A select number of participants will be invited to move on to the next step of the application process. Those admitted into the program will be part of the July-November 2020 cohort, with the long-term goal of being placed in a high-paid job as a software engineer.

Why is the Hackathon for Women, Queer, and Non-binary folks only?

Our mission is to provide equitable access to software engineering for people of color. In order to stay true to this mission, we have to make sure that we create inclusive spaces for women, queer, and non-binary folks of color, as they are even less represented in tech.

When are the hackathons?

We have three hackathons scheduled for April 18th, April 22nd, and May 2nd. Our Hackathon on April 22nd is for women and non-binary folk only. We only have a number of spaces available so make sure you grab your ticket fast!

Have more questions? Still unsure about spending the day with us?
