Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
--12 hrs of CEUs offered with additional cost once you pass an exam offered through CEUnit--
ASIST helps participants become more willing, ready, and able to intervene with someone who has thoughts of suicide.
Goals for ASIST Training include the following:
- Understand the ways personal and societal attitudes affect views on suicide and interventions.
- Provide guidance and suicide first-aid to a person with thoughts of suicide in ways that meet their individual safety needs.
- Appreciate the value of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources in the community at large.
- Recognize other important aspects of suicide prevention, including life promotion and self-care.
- Identify the key elements of an effective suicide safety plan and the actions required to implement it.

There is no cost to you for this training. Suggested community member donation of $75 to cover the cost of materials for the two-day workshop.
