1. Who can join the classes?

Our program is open to kids (5–12 years), teens (13–17 years), and adults (18+). No experience is necessary — we welcome complete beginners and experienced martial artists alike.

2. What should I wear to class?

Comfortable activewear is perfect — something you can move freely in. Please bring a water bottle and arrive 15 minutes early for your first class to complete a short waiver.

3. Do I need to bring any equipment?

No equipment is needed for your first class. If you sign up for a quarterly membership, you’ll receive a free shirt and, for teens and adults, Kali sticks for training.

4. How much does it cost after the free trial?

We offer a variety of pricing options including quarterly memberships and casual rates. For a limited time, you’ll get 25% off if you enroll by August 10th, 2025. Full pricing will be provided at your free session or by contacting us directly.

5. Are the classes safe and age-appropriate?

Yes! Classes are designed to be age-appropriate and trauma-informed, with a strong focus on safety, consent, and respectful learning. All instructors are trained and have valid Working With Children Checks.

6. Can parents watch the classes?

Absolutely. Parents are welcome to stay and observe, especially for children’s classes. It’s a great way to see what we do and support your child’s growth.

7. What if I miss a class?

Life happens — we understand. Let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate you with a makeup session or provide guidance on what was covered.

8. Can I still join if I’m not fit / have an injury / live with a disability?

Yes. Applied Self Defence is inclusive and adaptable. We work with all body types, abilities, and fitness levels. Let us know your needs and we’ll tailor the training for you.

9. Is there parking available?

Yes, there is free on-site parking at West Beach Primary School during class times and also on the street where allowed.
