Antimicrobial Resistance Workshop

Antimicrobial Resistance Workshop

By Indiana Department of Health Laboratory

Overview

Join IDOH to develop the knowledge and skills to effectively combat antimicrobial resistance!

The battle against disease is one fought every day. The use of antibiotics have provided important tools in treating bacterial infections and saving lives, but the rise in antimicrobial resistant bacteria has become an urgent threat worldwide, making treatment difficult.

Join IDOH for a workshop especially designed for entry-level microbiologists as we explore select topics regarding the fight against antimicrobial resistant organisms (AMRO). Learn about AMROs and testing options, with a focus on carbapenemase-producing organisms (CPO’s). In this workshop participants will also have hands on training on phenotypic methods for carbapenemase detection with the use of mCIM and Carba 5.
