Annual Day-After-Thanksgiving Hike

Annual Day-After-Thanksgiving Hike

By Lewisboro Land Trust

Overview

Come walk off your Thanksgiving feast and celebrate Native American Heritage Day with us at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation.

Come walk off those Thanksgiving calories and get outside for some crisp fresh autumn air at our 11th Annual Day-After-Thanksgiving hike to the overlook at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. We will also be celebrating Native American Heritage Day as we remember the peoples who have historically cared for this land and continue to care for Turtle Island.

Plan for an approximately 2.25 mile moderate hike. Sturdy, mud-resistant shoes, water, and appropriate layers are recommended. Friendly dogs on leash are welcome. Steady rain and other inclement weather cancels.

Ward Pound Ridge Reservation is located at Reservation Rd., Pound Ridge, NY 10576. The entrance is off of Route 121/Old Post Rd. just south of Route 35. After entering the park, take the first right onto Michigan Rd., taking it all the way to the end. There is plenty of parking at the end of the road, and to the left up a hill behind the shelter. We will meet by the picnic tables next to the loop. PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO GET INTO THE PARK.
