About this event
Raffle Tickets:
Raffle tickets are being sold to raise funds to help purchase a bike for a lucky child that has been nominated for our bike day drawing. Each raffle ticket can be purchased as a general donation or in the name of one of the nominated children to count as an additional entry for that child in the drawing for the adaptive bike.
Registration to participate in the Bike Day:
Children registered may come to Creekside park between 5 and 7. During this time the child will be fitted for an adaptive bike by therapists and equipment specialists and have an opportunity to ride around the 1/4 mile paved loop and enjoy the journey with special surprises along the way! Does your child already have an adaptive trike? They are welcome to come ride the loop and trick or treat along the way.
Nominated Kids:
(Please fill out this form to nominate your child to be added to the list: https://forms.gle/wN21Nc9Qe7Wy33ZB6)
Landon F: Landon has spina bifida and loves walking with his gait trainer. He also love using his adaptive bike for PT! Is loves to do anything outside, all time of year. Landon tries very hard to do things other kids can do. He would benefit from this bike so he can participate in activities with his friends in our neighborhood.
Nora G: Nora is a social, determined, and resilient four year old girl. Her bright smile and loud ‘HI’ will brighten your day and steal your heart! Nora had a brain injury at birth that affects her development and health, she’s a little miracle who’s been defying odds ever since. She loves playing with her four siblings and is determined to do what they are doing. One of Nora’s favorite things is to play outside with her siblings and neighborhood friends. She would love to have her very own bike so she could ride along with them! She has drug resistant epilepsy and her seizures cause her to regress in vision, movement, and coordination. The right side of her body is being affected more over time and we know a bike would help to keep her muscles moving and strengthening at home.
Kristine H: She is a good fighter every time life throws something at her, she keeps going. She needs help for all activities in her life but when trying and adapted trike, kristine she is able to pedal on her own. This gives her independence and she enjoys this activity.
Matais T: My miracle boy was born at just 22 weeks only weighing 1 lb 2 oz. We spent 4.5 months in NICU, waiting on the day we could bring him home and not knowing what the future held. He is now a 35 lb, 3-year-old boy with the most beautiful smile and contagious laugh. He was diagnosed with severe-profound hearing loss and now wears cochlear implants, wears glasses for his vision impairment, and is autistic, level 3 with global developmental delays. He has come a long way with the help of multiple therapies and Mom/Dad advocating for him every step of the way. I am nominating him to receive an adaptive bike to give him the opportunity to ride a bike for the first time, just like any kid deserves to experience. It will help him learn a new skill and build his confidence.
Lylah O:Lylah has come such a long way since her diagnosis with HADDS. She just turned 4 and uses an adaptive bike in her therapies and would love to have one for home as well to ride around with her twin sister and older sister.
Hayden E: Hayden is the sweetest 4 year old and he loves outside and sunshine! We have been able to try out a couple of bikes at therapy and he loves it. His smile melts everyone's heart. Anything that makes him happy and smile, we try to have and do for him. He deserves everything.
Jase J: Jase loves life and wants to strive as a child should. Jase has had 3 brain surgeries when the odds were stacked against him he never gave up. As of now Jase is cancer free. We have scans every three months untill he can be considered in remission.Jase was paralyzed neck down and he kept pushing and pushing and now he is learning how to walk and do simple task again with PT OT and speech. Jase also has a g-tube a shunt and a trach so he cant do normal activities but bike riding is one thing he can do and loves. He loved riding his bike before this happened and playing basketball. I couldnt tell you how a bike would change him. With Jase not being able to walk his wheel chair is his only movement. When he rides bike at therapy he loves it so much and he lights up with such accomplishment. Jase has been through so much at such a young age.
Noah P: Noah is 6 years old and has Down Syndrome. He absolutely loves being outside! One of his favorite things is things in motion. Receiving this bike will get him outside and in motion and I just know he will love it!
