Animal Investigation & Response (AIR) will be holding their Responder Orientation for current and new Volunteer Responders. This orientation is a requirement for all future Responders to be called upon to assist AIR with animal emergencies in the state of Texas.

This orientation will cover the services Animal Investigation & Response offers to other agencies in the event of animal emergencies such as; puppy mills, hoarding, dog and cock fighting or natural disasters. You will learn how you can assist with emergency situations and the necessary requirements to be deployed to a natural disaster area. You will also learn how you can expand your knowledge and skill level to specialize in Animal Search & Rescue, Flood Water Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, Technical Large Animal Rescue and other specialized areas of animal Response.

Responder duties include but not limited to:

*Shelter Responders- daily animal care, walking and socializing animals, enrichment, documentation, organization, reunification of animals, grooming.

*Medical Responder (vets and techs)- triage, examinations, treatment, administration of vaccination and prescribed medication, documentation

*Field Responders- (includes ACO's, LEO's and certified ASAR)

*Animal extraction, documentation, scene preservation, evidence collection, situation assessment, Animal Search & Rescue, assist with veterinary care/handling

*Specialized Responders - (certification and skills required) Animal Search & Rescue, Flood Water Rescue, Swift Water Rescue, Technical Large Animal Rescue, Hazmat/Decontamination

We will review AIR's core values, Responder certification requirements and policies, as well as additional areas you can help support the growth of the organization during non-Response times by becoming a member of the Management or Executive Team.

Orientation fee is $20 USD. Upon completion of the AIR Responder Orientation, you will receive an AIR Volunteer T-shirt, Volunteer guidelines, and a certificate of completion.
