A very special evening at the barn with a rare performance by Japanese butoh dancer and master of Noguchi Taiso, Mari Osanai.

Join us for a rare and special performance by Mari Osanai at the Barn at Old Schwamb Mill. She will be dancing a new piece that will incoroprate some of artist Eva Zasloff's visual work and will features a soundscape by Christophe Charles. The performance will run approximately 45 minutes.

Mari Osanai was born in 1956 and lives in Aomori, Japan. She trained in Classical Ballet, Modern dance, Jazz dance, Aomori traditional folk dance Tsugaru Teodori, Taichi Noguchi Taiso and studied under Mr. Hironobu Oikawa. Her unique movements and original style are realized through interweaving these diverse techniques. She has taught and performed in Canada, U.S.A, Greece, Germany, Mexico, and Japan.

Mari is being hosted in Boston by Alissa Cardone, movement artist and Professor of Dance at Boston Conservatory at Berklee for a weekend of workshops and performances.

100% of the proceeds from ticket sales goes direct to the artist to pay for her transportation, expenses and fees.


OTHER MARI OSANAI EVENTS/WORKSHOPS DURING HER VISIT:

The workshop is an opportunity to immerse yourself in 9-hours of Noguchi Taiso (Waterbody Movement) and is open to all humans yet particularly potent for performers and artists in all media.

Friday December 5th 6-9pm,
Sat December 6th 10-1pm, and
Sun December 7th 11-2pm

Workshop costs are: $180/3 days, $120/ 2-Day, $70/1-Day.
Early Bird: Register by 11/1 - $150 for all 3 days.
