No. This class helps you begin connecting even if you don’t know names, stories, or your full lineage. Energy and intention are enough.

Is this a religious or spiritual practice?

This class honors ancestral connection as a sacred and spiritual practice, but it is not tied to any one religion. All backgrounds are welcome.

What should I bring or prepare?

Just yourself, an open heart, and something to take notes. If you have an altar, you’re welcome to sit near it—but it’s not required.

Is this beginner friendly?

Yes! Whether you're brand new or already sensing your ancestors, you'll receive guidance, structure, and steps to go deeper.

Is it the same class every week?

Yes. Each Tuesday is a stand-alone offering of the same class, so you can pick a date that works best for you.

Do I need to be from the African Diaspora to attend this workshop?

Accepted Answer

No. This space is open to all. Every person has ancestors who want to connect with them. The workshop centers West African and African Indigenous traditions, but anyone with a sincere heart and respect is welcome.

I’m white—can I share the rituals I learn in this workshop with others?

Please DO NOT. These practices are rooted in African Indigenous traditions and carry deep cultural lineage. Sharing or teaching them without permission or training can be a form of cultural appropriation, even with good intentions. Please honor the sacredness by listening and learning with care.
