Klasey Consulting is partnering with Lincoln Families to bring this training An Overview of Learning Disabilities to Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras providers.Given the prevalence of learning disabilities of system-involved youth, it’s crucial for to understand how to best support youth. This training will provide an overview of what learning disabilities are and different types of learning disabilities. It's important for social service providers to recognize learning disabilities to advocate for system-involved youth to be assessed for learning disabilities when necessary and to advocate for adequate support in school.

Learning Objectives

1. Participants will be to identify at least 1 characteristic of dyslexia
2. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 characteristic of oral and written language disorder
3. Participants will be identify at least 1 characteristic of dyscalculia
Please note that in order to register for these FREE trainings your organization must directly work with foster, adoptive or probation involved children, youth and their families in Alameda, Solano, Mendocino, Lake, Contra Costa, Humboldt, Tuolumne and Calaveras only. Caregivers, including resource families, who serve youth in the above-mentioned counties are also eligible. Participants outside of these areas aren't eligible and will not receive the zoom link.

Dr. Kaitlyn Saulman is a licensed clinical psychologist and has worked with youth and young adults from a variety of backgrounds. She currently provides short-term and trauma-informed therapy to young adults and adults struggling with trauma, sexual well-being, depression, anxiety, adjustment to college, interpersonal relationships, and identity development.
