An invite to connect: shaping cities that work for
We believe cities work best when local governments and residents trust each other and pull in the same direction. That’s how we create places where people can truly live, work, and connect with dignity and joy. Everyday, this feels more important than ever.
At City Thread, we help cities do just that—by teaming up with leaders, staff, and community partners to turn good ideas into real projects that get done in years, not decades.
With Chicago and cities across the US heading into important budget seasons, we’re hosting a conversation with Marla Westervelt and Sara Studdard about how cities can take control of their progress and priorities. We’ll talk about what it looks like to build local capacity, use resources more effectively, and put people at the center of decision-making.
We’ll also dig into practical tools—like dynamic curb management, parking reform, and better street design—that can make neighborhoods more connected, support local business, and bring in new revenue to keep our cities moving.
Come for good conversation, great (and smart) people, and ideas that help make cities work for all of us.
