An Introduction to Trust-Based Relational Intervention for Clinicians
Event Information
About this Event
Session Description:
In this time of unprecedented stress and trauma, clinicians can be overwhelmed. One model that is helpful for clinicians working with caregivers and/or children and teens that can build resiliency is Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). TBRI is a holistic, multi-disciplinary, flexible, and attachment-centered approach to helping children, teens, and caregivers maneuver through traumatic times. This workshop will provide attendees with an introduction to TBRI, along with some specific interventions to incorporate into their practice.
This workshop is approved for 3 clinical hours for Social Workers by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners and 3 diagnosis clock hours for LPCs and PLPCs by the Louisiana Counseling Association. This workshop will be held online via Zoom. The link will be sent in the week leading up to the presentation.
Learning Objectives:
This presentation will:
- Lay the foundation for deep insight about the impact of a child’s attachment history on their long-term development
- Help clinicians understand how their own childhood attachment histories may impact their caregiving style and strategies when working with children and teens
- Create a framework for practical intervention and application utilizing connecting, correcting, and empowering principles of TBRI
- Enhance practitioners' understanding about how to interpret behavior and to respond appropriately using the IDEAL 4-Level Approach and engagement strategies
