The European Union (EU) Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act is a groundbreaking global regulation for trustworthy AI. The AI Act establishes a legal framework using a risk-based approach to regulate the development, deployment, and use of AI within the EU. Companies that fail to comply with the reporting and transparency requirements outlined in the AI Act may face monetary and reputational consequences. In this presentation, we will define AI systems within the context of the EU and outline the requirements and obligations imposed on AI system providers and users. We will also explore the various business and technical challenges and opportunities that stakeholders must consider. Whether you are a business leader, a risk and compliance professional, or simply interested in understanding the future of AI regulation, you will leave with a clear understanding of how legislative developments will impact AI systems.
