We all experience joy and grief in our lives, yet in our culture grief is rarely acknowledged, embraced, or even understood. Welcome to this Insightful Conversation, a safe space where you can reflect, engage, and explore the topic of loss and grief during these challenging times.

We're living in much uncertainty these days: from the disruption of “normal” life during the pandemic, to ongoing social and political unrest, to the painful reality of mass shootings, job loss, displacement, all alongside the quiet heartbreak of losing our loved ones. Each of these are experiences of grief. Yet too often, we're not given the language or the space to name and tend to them.

This Insightful Conversation is that space.

Join Leezá Carlone Steindorf, Certified Kessler Grief Educator, and Kara Seibert, Licensed Clinical Social Worker & equine-assisted services practitioner, for a 90-minute fireside-style gathering. We’ll begin with a conversation between Leezá and Kara on the hidden face of grief in Western culture, the healing that happens when people are heard, and the power of being held by horses. We’ll then open into small breakout groups with prompts for reflection, and finally return to whole-group sharing.

We’ll gently explore what it means to allow healing, and along the way discover the extraordinary role of horses in grief healing—their calm, embodied presence helps regulate our nervous systems, creates safety, and invites us to trust again.

Together, we will:

· Explore how we - our bodies, families, communities, and culture - are impacted when the grief of living shows up in our lives.

· Name losses that are often invisible or minimized.

· Unpack the myths about grief and the cultural pressure to “get over it.”

· Discover how authentic presence, shared story, and compassionate witness allow healing.

· Learn how horses, as gentle and wise companions, can help us regulate, release, and reconnect.

This free online event is open to all who have been touched by or carry grief—whether your loss is recent or long-ago, your grief personal or collective. You are welcome here exactly as you are.
