Maya Proulx is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and vocalist whose musical journey began in early childhood. A 2024 YoungArts winner with distinction in Jazz Voice and a U.S. Presidential Scholar in the Arts semifinalist, Maya moves fluidly between piano, viola, guitar, and voice. Her compositions have been performed by the Pasadena Chorale and Brightwork ensemble, and her artistic curiosity has recently led her deep into the worlds of Brazilian, Spanish, classical, and jazz guitar. This fall, she heads to Spain to immerse herself in the language and music of the region.
Zachary Caplinger is a jazz guitarist rooted in the Southern California music scene. A gifted improviser with deep knowledge of jazz tradition, Zachary studied with renowned artists including Ron Eschete and Bill Cunliffe, and now teaches jazz guitar and improvisation at Cal State Fullerton. He has performed with The Clayton Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, Bill Cunliffe, and Joe LaBarbera, among others, and leads his own ensembles throughout the region.
Join Zack Caplinger and Maya Proulx for an evening of music in the intimate setting of The Sanctuary Studio in Santa Ana’s Artists Village.
