Please join us for Asymptote’s fifth anniversary event in New York, as we welcome Ann Goldstein (who brought us #Ferrantefever by translating Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan tetralogy; more recently, she gave us Jhumpa Lahiri's In Other Words) and Natasha Wimmer (who had a hand in popularizing Roberto Bolaño in the US through her translation of his The Savage Detectives; and whose translation of Alvaro Enrigue's Sudden Death was recently published to great critical acclaim). These two of the best contemporary literary translators du jour will read their translations, before joining acclaimed novelist and short story writer Frederic Tuten in a conversation about world literature. Together, they will celebrate five years of Asymptote publishing the best in international literature.
