About this event

The Oxford Speculative Fiction Group is hosting an award-winning fantasy author Juliet E McKenna for a Q&A at Trinity College. Juliet writes both epic-fantasy sagas, as well as folklore-inspired series set in the modern day. She also teaches creative writing.

The event is FREE, and you will have a chance to ask Juliet questions during the Q&A portion!


About the author

After studying Classics at St Hilda's, Juliet (a former member of the Oxford Speculative Group) went on the build a prolific career in fantasy writing. Her epic fantasy debut The Thief's Gamble was published in 1999. It is the first book of Juliet's series The Tales of Einarinn. Another of Juliet's epic fantasy series include The Aldabreshin Compass, Lescari Revolution and The Hadrumal Crisis.

Her current fantasy series inspired by British folklore began with The Green Man’s Heir in 2018 and The Green Man’s Quarry won BSFA Award for Best Novel 2023.

Juliet also writes short fiction that has been published in anthologies by ZNB in the US, and by Newcon Press in the UK.

Juliet lives in West Oxfordshire with her family.
