An evening with Julian Baggini
Renowned philosopher and best-selling author Julian Baggini discusses a key question raised in his book The Ego Trick: ‘What does it mean to be you?’ He argues that there is no essence or ‘kernel’ of the self – our physical brains alone produce our thoughts and feelings. But is this right? How do we explain emotions, or moments of transcendence?
There will be time for questions and answers.
Please join us for what promises to be a fascinating evening of exploration.
Julian Baggini is a Patron of the British Humanist Association (BHA). You can read more about him on the BHA website here.
The event is being held in the Union Jack Club's Gascoigne Suite. Doors open at 7pm. Tickets are free - all you have to do is register. We will be asking for donations on the night to cover the hire of the hall.
