An Evening With Dan Grunfeld

We're thrilled to invite you to an exclusive conversation with Dan Grunfeld on November 17th. This event will support the upcoming documentary film about his family’s story of Holocaust survival, NBA stardom, and the American Dream.

Livia Grunfeld, Dan’s 100-year-old grandmother, survived the Holocaust in the Budapest Ghetto. She lost her parents and five of her siblings and later fled Communist Romania to come to America with her husband and two young sons. One of those sons was Ernie Grunfeld, who went on to set the scoring record at Tennessee, play nine years in the NBA, and build the great Knicks teams of the 90s as General Manager. Years later, Ernie’s son Dan led Stanford in scoring before playing for Hapoel Jerusalem.

The film is directed by Brad Rothschild, in partnership with 3 Generations Inc., a nonprofit that documents stories of human rights abuses through film. Menemsha Films, the leading distributor of Jewish-themed films, has signed on to distribute the movie.

Join us to hear Dan's story, see exclusive footage from the film, and help bring this powerful story to the screen. If you can't attend, please support the film by donating here.
