An Evening with Bishop Mariann Budde

6 pm Reception in the Great Hall

7 pm Remarks from Bishop Budde

Come join us for a special evening with Bishop Mariann Budde at All Saints Church! This in-person event will be a unique opportunity to hear from Bishop Budde, ask questions, and be part of an inspiring conversation about faith, courage, and what it means to follow God in our everyday lives.

Through stories and reflections from her own Christian journey, Bishop Budde will reflect on how sharing Christ’s love can become a way of life.

Bishop Budde is an author, speaker, and leader in the Episcopal Church. A passionate believer in the gospel of Jesus, she reminds us that Jesus calls all who follow him to strive for justice and peace and to respect the dignity of every human being.

Her sermons have been featured in numerous books and journals, and she is the author of three books, most recently How We Learn to Be Brave: Decisive Moments in Life and Faith (2023). She was recently recognized among the Most Powerful Women in the 60th-anniversary issue of Washingtonian magazine.

Bishop Budde was consecrated as the ninth bishop of Washington in November 2011, the first woman elected to this position. As Bishop of Washington, she serves as the spiritual leader for Episcopal congregations and schools across the District of Columbia and four Maryland counties and chairs the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral Foundation at Washington National Cathedral.

Bishop Budde holds a B.A. in History from the University of Rochester (magna cum laude), and both a Master of Divinity (1989) and Doctor of Ministry (2008) from Virginia Theological Seminary.
