Calling all Teachers and Educators! Get two Professional Development experiences in one night at the Illinois State Museum! Curator of Science Education Alex Ruger and Curator of Art and History Education Cori Claycomb will team up to present back-to-back workshops covering "Teaching with Objects" and "Using Visual Thinking Strategies" in the classroom. Begin the evening with Alex as he discusses “hands-on” history and science in the classroom and making scientific objects accessible to educators and their students. Then stick around as Cori Claycomb helps dispel the notion that art is only for the experts. In Using Visual Thinking Strategies in the Classroom, teachers will leave with a skill set that invites students to gain skills such as visual literacy, communication, and collaboration. This event is free to attend, although reservations are required.
Teachers will receive 2 CPDU credits for attending.
