An Evening in Conversation with Scott Turow and Karna Scott Bodman

Join us for a captivating evening with two acclaimed authors—Scott Turow and Karna Small Bodman—as they discuss writing, storytelling, and their extraordinary careers spanning law, politics, and literature.

Scott Turow is a bestselling novelist and former practicing lawyer whose works have defined the modern legal thriller. The author of Presumed Innocent—now a hit Apple TV+ series starring Jake Gyllenhaal—and Suspect, Turow has sold over 30 million books worldwide. His novels have been translated into more than 40 languages and adapted into major films and television series. In addition to fiction, Turow is known for his acclaimed nonfiction work One L and his thought-provoking essays featured in The New York Times, The Washington Post, Vanity Fair, and The Atlantic.

The Honorable Karna Small Bodman is the author of six international thrillers and an award-winning children’s book. Before turning to fiction, Bodman had a distinguished career in journalism and public service. She served as Deputy Press Secretary and later as Senior Director and Spokesperson for the National Security Council under President Ronald Reagan—at the time, the highest-ranking woman on the White House staff. A graduate of the University of Michigan and a former television news anchor in major markets including San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., Bodman brings a wealth of real-world experience to her storytelling.

Together, Turow and Bodman will share insights from their writing journeys, discuss the intersection of fact and fiction in their work, and offer a rare glimpse into the worlds of law, politics, and suspense.
