About this event

Community • State

2025 has been a year with a new President who has initiated drastic changes in immigration policy in the United States.

Join us on Wednesday, September 24th at the Mission Hills-Hillcrest Library at 4-6pm for a general LWVSD membership meeting and presentation of our newest Speakers Bureau talk. For newer members, this is a way to connect to and learn about the League.

Our Speakers Bureau team has developed the “America's Immigration Challenges” talk to present to civic and community groups. It has background on our immigration system, facts about changes under the new administration and information about current litigation, potential policy directions and action steps. Our presenters, Gina Gianzero and Jane Andrews, are members of our Speakers Bureau.

We will have some social time with cheese and crackers, snacks and light beverages. Parking is available underneath the library, and parking tickets can be stamped inside the library.

This will be a great opportunity to meet other LWVSD members and leaders as well as to hear up to date information on immigration.

Notice of Accessibility: LWVSD strives to create inclusive, accessible meetings and events that enable all individuals to fully engage with its programming. Please contact us if you need accommodations to access this event.
