Machine learning in high-volume, high-throughput, massively distributed data for commercial air travel

We present use cases of machine learning algorithms applied to high-volume, high-throughput and massively distributed travel data at Amadeus and discuss unique challenges, as well as examine more optimal uses of hardware and high-performance algorithms to help simplify travel planning for passengers, airlines, airports and other stakeholders in international air travel.

Bio: Dr. Acuna-Agost has more than 10 years of professional experience in Artificial Intelligence and Operations Research for the travel industry. Currently leading the AI Research department of Amadeus, his main responsibilities include leading exploratory and applied research activities with focus on AI and OR applications related to the travel industry (e.g., airlines, airports, travel agencies, etc). Some of his previous research are now running in production and impact thousands of passengers every day. Dr. Acuna-Agost is actively connected to the global research community and his works have been presented at more than 50 international conferences (including best presentation / innovation awards) and published several papers & patents in these fields.
