ACDR, in collaboration with the Women’s Multicultural Resource and Counselling Centre (WMRCC), invites you to Alternative Ways of Healing — a survivor-centred event designed for those with lived experiences of Gender-Based Violence.

This event offers a safe, inclusive, and empowering space where participants can explore creativity, movement, storytelling, and mindfulness as powerful tools for healing and community connection.

🎤 Featured Guests

  • Cola – A dynamic multidisciplinary artist whose journey into writing, poetry, and the arts began during her BFA in classical piano at York University. When tragedy struck, she transformed her pain into powerful lip art and spoken word, proving that even in the darkest times, one can find profound joy and inspiration.
  • Mary Krohnert – Founder of the Living Room Art Studio. Mary is an actor, art therapist, and social arts practitioner passionate about intersectional community engagement through the arts. Based in Durham Region, she holds degrees from Ryerson University and The Toronto Art Therapy Institute and studied Community Art Studios, Methods, and Materials at Concordia University.
  • Nirupa – A practicing RSW, MSW, and certified yoga instructor who integrates wellness, therapy, and movement in her practice.
