About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

The ALTCS (Arizona Long Term Care System) Workshop is designed for individuals and family caregivers in the community to learn more about Arizona’s long term care Medicaid program. Long term care is expensive. Many cannot afford it. The ALTCS program enables people who need help with their personal care needs to continue living independently for as long as possible, or receive the support they need in a safe placement where their care needs can be met.

Topics we’ll cover:

· The financial criteria for eligibility (both income and resources)

· How much care one requires for their personal needs to meet the medical eligibility criteria

· What to do if an applicant’s income or resources exceed the income limit

· What it means to spend-down and when it’s necessary

· What Share of Cost means--who it applies to and who it doesn’t

· Estate recovery and perhaps dispel some myths

PCOA holds the ALTCS workshop on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 2:00 PM. There is no cost to attend. The presentation alternates each month between In-Person (seating is limited) and Virtual (via Zoom). For more information or to register please contact Pima Council on Aging at (520) 790-7262.

Registration is required. Seating is limited for in-person workshops, please contact us if you are unable to attend.
