About this event
Join us on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, for an exciting Open House event at AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles.
Join us for AltaSea’s final Open House of the year as we explore the future of ocean technology and innovation. This special edition will spotlight Blue Robotics, a pioneer in accessible underwater robotics, and feature a keynote by Founder and CEO Rusty Jehangir.
Learn how cutting-edge marine tech is transforming how we explore and protect our oceans — from autonomous vehicles to affordable underwater thrusters. Whether you're an ocean enthusiast, student, educator, or just curious about the blue economy, this event is for you!
🌊 Featured Speaker: Rusty Jehangir – Founder & CEO of Blue Robotics
After earning degrees in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and attending USC, Rusty Jehangir set out to build a solar-powered surfboard to autonomously cross the Pacific. When he couldn’t find affordable thrusters, he built his own — and then built Blue Robotics, a company that now employs nearly 70 people and supports ocean exploration across the globe.
Rusty will share his journey from a student with an ambitious idea to a tech entrepreneur revolutionizing access to marine robotics.
🎓 Career Development Day for High School Students
