Altadena Community Open House: Build Back Better

By B.PUBLIC Prefab

Overview

Evening for sharing information, supporting the rebuild community. Passive House performance for Rebuild Safer, Healthier, & Fire-Resilient.

Food, Drink, and great conversations.

B.PUBLIC Prefab and friends invite families in the Eaton and Palisades fire area to an evening to explore building back better. The online "Living Room Sessions" continue with this local event to support the community's rebuilding effort through professional services, products, and partnerships.

This event is a casual community open house where you can network and learn from professionals about building homes that are comfortable, healthy, energy-efficient, and safe for the future.

These living room session events started online, and now we are happy to be live! Everyone is welcome, but this is designed to support those who’ve lost their homes, their loved ones, or neighbors, and want to learn about better home designs, prefab options, and what we’ve learned from other fire rebuilds. We hope to share good building options that include the Passive House approach, home plans, prefab, and lessons from our other fire rebuild projects. We hope to offer some options for green building, process clarity, and compassion in a harrowing time.

As professionals, this is a forum to offer information from REAL people working in the fire rebuild area to help families navigate design, construction, and building options.

This event will include speed and open Q&A with passive home professionals:

  • Edie Dillman, Co-owner, and Mariana Pickering, Community Engagement Director, B.PUBLIC Prefab
  • Brownyn Barry, Passive House BB, Architect and Passive House leader
  • Mary Aramyan and Kyle Kovacs, Aramyan Kovacs Design
  • Ken Levinson, Executive Director of the Passive House Network
  • Jaime Rodriguez, Altagether - Zone 20 | Co-captain
  • Katherine Peoples of EFC Collaboratory and HPP Cares
  • plus more vendors, professionals, and friends
