Overview

Cellist Nicholas Mariscal leads this celebration of Latin American heritage with music & stories connecting Cincinnati’s immigrant voices

Rooted in celebration of Latino and Hispanic heritage, Alma Latina is a collaborative program centering Latin American composers and the lived experiences of Cincinnati’s immigrant communities. Curated by cellist Nicholas Mariscal, the concert will feature music spanning a wide range of styles and time periods, from folkloric traditions to modern classical works, highlighting the cultural richness and diversity of Latin America.

Alma Latina is envisioned as more than a concert: it is a space for connection, reflection, and cultural exchange. In addition to the music, the evening will incorporate community storytelling and visual art, inviting audiences to engage with the layered histories and identities that shape the Latin American diaspora.
