Is there a cost to attend the Level Up Summit?

What are the parking arrangements?

There is street parking on Jackson Blvd. Malcolm X College has a parking garage adjacent to the college. Parking tickets can be validated on-site in the Conference Center on the main floor of the college.

Is there handicap accessibilities?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Level 1, of the college, has wheelchair accessibility and parking next to the security room. If you need assistance entering the building, please connect with a member of the Level Up Summit Volunteer team (wearing a neon green t-shirt) and ask to be escorted to your seat.

Where will the Level Up Summit event take place?

All of the Level Up Summit activities will take place inside Malcolm X College. Check-in, session registration, the opening session, lunch, community vendor fair, and the Teen Fun Zone will take place on the main level. Breakout sessions will take place on the classroom levels of the college.

What happens if the event is canceled?

The event will be postponed and information regarding rescheduling initiatives will be shared via email and social media outlets.

Will there be food available or served during the event?

Accepted Answer

Yes, food is available for purchase at the on-site cafeteria. On Saturday, March 25, the cafeteria will be open from 8-9:30a and again from 11:30a-2p. If you arrive by 9:30a there will be a breakfast option for all registered youth and a $10 lunch voucher if checked-in by 12p (while supplies last).

Are we required to attend the breakout sessions?

No, you are not required but we do encourage every youth and parent to attend at least two of the three breakout sessions to receive the full enjoyment of the Level Up Summit experience.

How do I register? Can you register on site?

Accepted Answer

Same-day registration will be available on-site. However, we strongly encourage everyone to register ahead of time to ensure our team is prepared to receive you upon arrival. Please click on the "Register" link above to secure your Level Up Summit seat.

What if I cannot arrive until after 9:30a?

Youth and parents are welcome at any time during the day. The Level Up Summit has exciting and fun programming from 9:30a-5p. Come spend half a day or the full day with us. We'd love to have you!

Question 11

Should I bring a child younger than 8th grade?

Accepted Answer

Yes. While this is a program designed to prepare our 8th-12th graders for the next chapter in life, 7th graders are welcome to attend. Please keep in mind that the information shared will be parent and teen-friendly so children under 12 may find the sessions more challenging to follow along.
