The evening will begin with RoCo Dance OnStage, showcasing 175+ youth dancers in its commencement of the Spring 2025 Season. Award winning and acclaimed Bay Area choreographers are presenting 2-3 min dances of Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, and Breaking.
Following a brief intermission, we will dive into Alice, a modern reimagining of the classic Alice in Wonderland tale. RoCo’s production blends surreal fantasy with humor, physical intensity, and drama, bridging the old world with the new. Each chapter is uniquely stylized through dance, original costumes, and dynamic video production, all set to a score combining original music by French composer Rim Laurens and popular tracks.
Originally conceived and set for RoCo in 2007 by French artist and former faculty member Daisy Stoloft, Alice has become a beloved staple—this marks its fifth re-staging. The production features select dancers from RoCo’s upper-level youth programs, showcasing Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, and breaking styles.
