Algolia Search Party — What can't React do?

It's 2018! For the first Algolia Search Party of the year we're going to dive into the rich React ecosystem. Online code editors, static website generators, VR games or mobile applications: it seems that there isn't much React can't do. Join us and hear our speakers share how they made these great projects.

The talks will be followed by great food and drinks directly from the Algolia Search Bar. Enjoy the friendly atmosphere and discussions.

Speakers

Ives Van Hoorne, Creator of CodeSandbox.io
Improving your React Developer Tooling with Instant Search

How you can improve React developer experience with InstantSearch, in the sense of that we for example could use InstantSearch for generating autocompletion, or for installing finding npm dependencies, or for very quick documentation right in your editor.

Marie Thuret, Solutions Engineer at Algolia
Bringing a fast and relevant search to a React Native application

Building a good search experience in your application that is both fast and relevant is a tough challenge. In this talk, we first analyse these challenges, then discuss the current traditional ways to implement search in a mobile application, and finally present a library called React InstantSearch.

Aurore Malherbes, Mobile Engineer at BAM
Live-coding session

If you're coding with React, there's a high chance that you use Redux as well. But, do you really understand the way the Redux store works with its dispatch, getState and subscribe? Well, let's recode this famous library live to discover what is going on under the hood!
