Alchemizing RAGE: Movement Workshop & Dance Party

By The Theater Offensive

Overview

We're hosting a movement workshop and dance party in honor of our new Queer Liberatory Aesthetic: Bitterness, Chaos & Rage.

Bring your RAGE. Through a guided movement journey, we’ll access this energy and move it through our bodies and dance it out. Our goal is for everyone to leave feeling grounded.

Choreographer and cultural leader, McKersin and Boston Based Choreographer and leader in the Krump scene, Snoopy are your facilitators for this activation. With their guidance, WE WILL leave with tools to help alchemize energy through movement using rhythm to help us release.

We'll close the night with a dance party for a moment of collective joy.

This experience is open to all dance levels and there is no formal training required.

We hope you all will accept this invitation to RAGE.

Queer Liberatory Aesthetics in Action

Almost one year ago we experienced the evolution of a hate-fueled monster who’s been sewing chaos for centuries. A monster set on inflicting compounding harm for generations with a goal of violence and destruction masked as religion, politics and social order.

To be an artist is to conjure divinity by honoring the ways spirit, flesh, fate and intuition commune. This aesthetic empowers us to honor our full emotional capacity. We are abundant and while we strive to live in joy, there are moments that require a different awareness. We will not be moved by the monster. It’s beneath us.

Bitterness, Chaos and Rage. This is how the spell works:

"We identify our right to rage and chaos as a pathway to our full humanity. We sit in our fuss, put up our fight, and take issue with who and/or what takes issue with us. Our bitterness is a sign that our soul is processing something toxic. If chaos is creation then let us create as our most authentic selves."
