Alan Clark of Dire Straits – Live at Forsyth!
Overview
CHARITY DRINKS RECEPTION – 6:30pm
CONCERT – 7:00pm
Alan Clark – Dire Straits' keyboard player and producer, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, and winner of multiple Grammys – returns to Forsyth for a solo piano performance on our superb Bösendorfer 230 Vienna Concert grand piano that he recently used to record his forthcoming solo album at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios.
Of everything I've done in music, playing piano solo is probably my favourite; give me a good piano and an audience and I'm happy. – Alan Clark
Alan will play music from the new album and from throughout his career, which has included work with Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Mark Knopfler and Tina Turner.
As well as a wonderful musical evening, this is also a fundraising event: we will donate 50% of the cost of each ticket to Manchester-based music education charity Olympias Music Foundation, which has provided nearly 40,000 free music lessons in the area since its creation in 2015. If you would like to make a further contribution to their invaluable work, you will be able to do so at our Charity Drinks Reception from 6:30pm on the night, or anytime via their donations page.
We look forward to welcoming you! This concert is part of a busy calendar of regular events in our spectacular Piano Showroom at our historic store in the heart of Manchester: follow us here on Eventbrite to receive notifications as details of forthcoming events are released.
