AIU Grant Writing Workshop
Overview
Do you have a great program idea but aren’t sure how to fund it? Have you ever wondered what’s involved in developing and submitting a strong grant proposal? If you answered yes, this workshop is for you!
Offered by the AIU’s Evaluation, Grants, and Data Department, this one-day interactive workshop will guide you through the full grant development process—from sourcing opportunities and determining whether your concept is a good fit, to justifying your program’s need and learning how to write fundable applications. We will also explore how AI tools can support grant research, writing, and proposal development. Bring your ideas and engage in hands-on practice and peer brainstorming throughout the day.
Bonus: Every participant will receive a a Grant Toolkit with practical planning tools for identifying opportunities, developing proposals, and managing submissions. Participants will also receive a free 30-minute one-on-one follow-up consultation, redeemable anytime within one year of the workshop, to get personalized feedback on a grant idea or draft.
Lunch is provided, Eventbrite fees are included, and Act 48 credits will be offered.

Overview - Defining Grants and the Grant Life Cycle
Learn about what grants are, why you would apply for one and who is eligible, how submitted proposals are reviewed, what it takes to write a grant, and common reasons grant proposals fail. In this section we will also review the phases in the grant lifecycle and will discuss our common experiences with grant applications.
