The next AIER (Alliance for Innovative Educational Redesign) Conversation will be a continuation of our conversation last spring about Lab Schools. We will revisit previous discussion of Lab School structures, and update where we are now; we will also discuss how to foster innovative practices, and university partnerships; with the intent of seeing the viability of starting a Lab School in Spokane. Travis Franklin, of the Gates Foundation will be there to help host the conversation and provide updates on the emergent school landscape for Washington State.

Goals of Conversation:

- Generative discussion - Brain-storm possibilities - Definition- Potential Outcomes - Fun

Big Picture:

- What is or can be a Lab School - and where are we now in that discussion?

- Updates from the Spring Conversation

- What does Spokane need now from a Lab School? Why?

- What could a Lab School offer to the Spokane regional educational ecosystem?

- How can the university partnership be formed in different ways to create different levels and types of support and innovative practices?

- Who might be potential partners in this endeavor?

Format: This will be a generative conversation around a big table - dinner and beverages provided.

Cost is $12.00 to help cover the cost of the dinner.

The event will be held at Uptic Studios - 402 E. Sprague
