AI Video for Research, Learning and Creativity
Overview
AI Series
This introductory workshop explores the rapidly evolving world of AI video creation and its emerging applications in research, learning, and creative practice. Participants will be introduced to the latest generation of AI video models, including Veo 3 and Sora 2, along with several promising new entrants.
Use cases will demonstrate both creative exploration and how faculty, researchers, and students can transform complex research and academic papers into engaging videos using tools such as Notebook LM, opening new possibilities for digital scholarship.
The session will also walk through a complete AI video production stack—from scripting and prompting (GPT 5/ Sonnet 4.5), to image generation (DALL·E/Gemini 2.5 Flash), video generation (Sora 2, Veo 3), and narration (Eleven Labs). Participants will also learn how to integrate these components into cohesive, larger-scale AI video projects using editors such as Adobe Express, as this field continues to evolve at an extraordinary pace.
All UCR community members are welcome to attend. Make sure to register with your UCR email. Zoom link will be emailed to registered participants one hour before the workshop starts. Participants are expected to follow and uphold UC Riverside's Principles of Community.
