You will go hands-on with the materials, explore key concepts, and walk away with instructional strategies to guide your students through this essential unit successfully.

What You Will Learn

Unit 4 is crucial for helping students understand the systems that power modern AI. By the end of this workshop, you will be prepared to:

· Master the Core Content: Gain a deeper understanding of fundamental networking concepts, including protocols (IP, TCP, HTTP, DNS), and how data is transmitted across the internet.

· Connect Networking to AI: Clearly articulate for your students how the internet's infrastructure is the "fabric" that enables the modern deployment and scaling of AI tools like Large Language Models (LLMs) and other generative AI.

· Effective Lesson Delivery: Collaborate with other CS teachers and an experienced facilitator to review lesson plans, troubleshoot common student challenges, and share best practices for engaging instruction.

· Address Societal Impacts: Lead informed discussions about data communication, network security, and the broader societal impacts of our interconnected digital world.

Facilitators: Jackie Honghern, Linda Rich
